ASC C63® 2008 Participation Fee Schedule
In the course of developing and publishing standards, ASC C63® incurs significant expenses. The largest expenses for C63® are the IEEE editing and secretariat charges for C63® standards and meeting/balloting activity, respectively. To cover these (and other) costs, C63® charges participation fees for its organizational and individual members.

Further Information and Requirements:
Organizational members may have an alternative representative on ASC C63®. However, the organization member has only one vote at the C63™ Parent Committee meetings. The organizational participation fee covers up to five (5) participants affiliated or named by the organizational member in C63™ activities, with no additional meeting fees required (unless necessary to cover extraordinary meeting expenses). The total of five includes the organization’s primary representative and the alternate. If these participants are members of subcommittees or working groups, they are then voting members of those committees. If they are not members of Subcommittees or Working Groups, they are classified as non-voting observers without vote. The individual ASC C63® member’s fee covers the participation in an unlimited number of ASC C63® Subcommittees, Working Groups and projects. They do not have a vote in these other committee activities unless they have also been accepted as members in those committees.
The fee for those who pay the $250.00 fee for observing ASC C63® meetings covers the ASC C63® meeting and all Subcommittee and Working Group meetings that occur as part of any particular ASC C63® multi-day meeting series. Subcommittee members are allowed to observe the ASC C63® parent meeting as well as any working group meetings of their subcommittee without any fee and without any vote. The C63® Chair can authorize higher or lower fees for special Working Group meetings.
To cover the additional costs of teleconferencing, telephone participation in any meeting requires the payment of the same meeting fee as in-person participants pay. Note that there are no substitutes for members in subcommittees or working groups or for individual/emeritus members of ASC C63® as these participants are acting as individual experts.
Committee, Subcommittee or Working Group Chairs may sometimes ask invited experts to participate and help with C63 projects and meetings. At the discretion of the Chair inviting such an expert, meeting participation fees for that expert can be waived for that meeting, but no more than two times during the lifetime of an ASC C63®project for any individual.
Payment of fees:
Payment for all C63® participation fees noted in the table above, whether an in-person meeting or a telephone-participation meeting must be made in advance of the meeting, or collected by the meeting Chair at the start of the meeting.
